He founded the Bay Area Urban Debate League in 2008, a nonprofit organization creating debate teams in inner-city high schools in the San Francisco bay area. Johnson received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma, where he became the National Champion of College Debate in 2007.
